TEVIOT DAY SERVICES

The Scottish Borders Health and Social Care Partnership are currently looking at options to reopen a Day Service in the Teviot and Liddesdale area and would like to gain your views around what you would want from a Day Service and what would make a Day Services accessible for you. An Adult Day Service is a service which is provided by Local Authorities, the NHS, or voluntary/private organisations. They are a place where older people or people with a range of disabilities can go during the day to socialise with others in a similar situation and take part in activities. These services also offer an opportunity for family members/carers to have a break from caring responsibilities.
Engagement carried out to date shows that the need in the Teviot and Liddesdale area is for Day Services which provide personal care for people with complex needs and that the best place for a Day Service would be Hawick.
