Thanks to funding from the UK Community Renewal Fund, The Bridge and Bavs are able to offer a series of FREE workshops on topics of interest to voluntary and community organisations in the Scottish Borders, through our ‘Bridging the Gap through Knowledge Transfer’ project.

Participants were taken through the steps that lead to developing a successful project, achieving funding and project delivery, making a difference for their community.

The first series of workshops took place in May 2022 on “Greening a community building” and “Developing a digitally-connected learning centre”.

Each topic was delivered by a local organisation/development trust that has been successful in developing and running that particular activity, supported by ourselves as facilitators and contributing on the project development aspects.

A second series of (online) workshops on “Greening a community building” took place in September – recordings of the sessions have been made available to those unable to attend during the day and “How To” Guides based on the content of these sessions are being produced; these will be made available online.

Organisations signing up for the workshops were able to take up the offer of a technical feasibility study, also fully funded through the project, and these are currently being undertaken by qualified consultants.
